Breast Cancer Support Lapghan by VanessaKnits KnitKit
From: $145.00
When I was 16 years old, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. At just 45 years of age, she was the first in our family to receive such a diagnosis. A few years later, her younger sister would receive the same diagnosis. A few years after that their aunt. We all know someone who has battled this disease so I wanted to do something that knitters could knit to give back and support our loved ones who are in the midst of their fight. I remember when my mom would go to her chemotherapy sessions, the rooms were always so cold and sterile. Often, patients had small blankets on their laps (lapghans”) to keep them warm while they sat for their treatment. What better way to figuratively AND literally keep your loved one warm and surrounded by love than by knitting them a special blanket?
I made this pattern available for free in an attempt to pay it forward. Instead of paying me for this pattern, I ask that you pay it forward in whatever way you wish whether that be donating to a charity, donating your time or knitting one of these blankets for a local hospital your choice! Thank you for helping to spread the love in this world. xo, Vanessa
