Knitting Tips

The Baby Cable Stitch

Posted on November 25, 2017November 25, 2017 by Erin Pirro

Cables are beautiful, but they are a whole different animal when it comes to knitting!

The ‘baby cable’ or ‘faux cable’ stitch gives a little twist to a rib that makes it look like you’re knitting cables, even though it’s just a secret stitch.  Well, the secret’s out – all you need to do is k2tog, then before you drop the stitch off the needle, knit the first stitch again.  Watch and see!

You’ll find this stitch used in our Cirrus Hat and our Aubonne Card Wallet.
